PRIOR TO TREATMENT
You will need to come in for a consultation to have the area assessed. It is essential you purchase and start using the anti pigmentation Serum before treatment. This is a Tyrosinase Inhibitor (inhibits the development of pigmentation activated by the treatment)
Skin Types: Fitz 1-1 week prior Fitz 2-2 weeks Prior Fitz 3-4 weeks Prior Fitz 4,5 & 6 not suitable for this treatment.
You will need to purchase 10% numbing cream as it is illegal for us to supply. Once you have booked in we will forward the contact information for our compounding pharmacist.
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING TREATMENT?
The area to be treated is cleansed and coated it with anaesthetic cream that take effect within 1/2 an hour. Once the procedure starts, heat sensation and a little pain may be felt. Following the procedure, small black or brown ‘carbon crusts’ on the treated area of skin will be present.
WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER TREATMENT?
The following day you will have swelling in the treated area (please do not use an ice pack).
Day 3: Less swelling
Day 4: Start applying Anti-Pigmentation Serum daily for a minimum of 3 weeks.
Pink spots are the result of new skin and may remain for up to 3 months.
Skin needling can speed up the process.
Depending on severity of the skin's condition clients may need a second treatment.
ADVANTAGES VS. SURGERY
No cutting of skin No stitches required
Very low risk procedure (NO risk of blindness as there is with surgery)
Minimal side effects and far less downtime
Quick & easy procedure No thinning of the skin Significant cost saving
WHAT WE USE PLASMA SKIN TIGHTENING FOR?
Eyelid reconstruction, including resolving baggy lower eyelids, excess upper eyelid skin, crow’s feet, and uneven eye shape.
Diminishing stretch marks
Tightening loose stomach skin after pregnancy
Lines and wrinkles around the mouth, face and other areas of the body
HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?
The effects should last as long as they would with invasive surgery. However this does not stop the natural aging process. We recommend a top up treatment once every 1 or 2 years for maintenance. The positive effects of treatment will be noticeable immediately after the first treatment, but the best results will be seen after 8-12 weeks.
WILL I SEE IMMEDIATE RESULTS?
You will more than likely see immediate results from the procedure. Sometimes redness and swelling can occur which can distort the results, but you will be able to see some results right away. You will notice more firmness and tightening of the treated areas as the skin continues to heal and produce more collagen (sometimes even 3-6 months down the line!).
HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE REQUIRED?
The number of treatments required will vary according to the condition being treated, skin's laxity, the desired degree of correction and the individual’s response to the treatment. Appointments must be spaced out 6-8 weeks.

POST TREATMENT CARE
Immediately after treatment, there may be a burning sensation. This will usually resolve during the remainder of the day although if it is particularly uncomfortable or persists for a longer period, then an anti-inflammatory medication such as ibuprofen can be taken.
it is normal to have some swelling. This can be significant around the eyes and can last for several days and may lead to interference with vision in the initial period. Please DO NOT use cold compress.
We recommend sleeping at a 45 degree angle to reduce swelling.
Crusting will usually develop over the treated area, this will often initially be brown or black on the surface of the skin and flake off over the following days. It is essential to not pick at this crusting as this may lead to infection or scarring. Occasionally the treated area may become a little weepy, this is part of the normal healing process and will improve with time.
Sports, swimming and sauna are not permitted until crusts fall off. Avoid sun.
SPF 50 must be used on the treated area for a minimum 30 days after treatment.
Do not use an ice pack, Can splash with water only for the first 3 days.
After that you can gently cleanse and moisturise.
We recommend in the morning: cleansing, then vitamin C, then moisturise and apply sunscreen.
Night: Cleanse, then La Clinica Serum and moisturise.
Taking a vitamin C supplement 1000mg daily and a collagen supplement will definitely help with results.
CAN I USE MAKEUP AFTER THE PROCEDURE?
The treated skin area will be covered with carbon crusts which form during the treatment. They should not be rubbed off.
You can apply a suitable makeup (which we will recommend) But keep in mind, when cleaning off at night you must be extra careful not to prematurely lift off the carbon crusts as you may be left with scarring. It is recommended you avoid any makeup on the treated area for at least 1 week, if possible to let the skin breath and heal. In addition, patients need to avoid all direct heat sources such as sun, UV radiation, saunas etc for the period of at least 4 weeks
